CSE has assisted a consortium of Clean City Coalitions in the Department of Energy-sponsored EMPOWER project to accelerate electric vehicle (EV) charging at workplaces nationwide, particularly in low-income and underserved communities.
EMPOWER, for Equitable Mobility Powering Opportunities for Workplace Electrification Readiness, was supported by 30 coalition partners who sought to get hundreds of employers to commit to workplace EV charging with a goal for at least 20% of installations in designated opportunity zones that benefit underserved communities and people of color.
CSE provided EMPOWER critical data handling, research, analysis and evaluation capabilities by leveraging its experience managing data for EV charging incentive programs and developing the Caret® EV Infrastructure Planner that optimizes charging planning.
